Auto-Position Mode is a new feature of the Wavelore Pedal Steel Guitar as of version 2.5. It allows the automatic setting of neck position based on a user-defined starting string. The user selects a starting string, upon which each new phrase will begin, and the instrument selects the correct position based upon the first note played and its location on that string. This technique allows, among other things, repetition of phrases at different pitch levels (eg. Arpeggios based on ascending/descending chord progressions) without manually resetting the position for each change of pitch level.
