Old and New

This electronica demo gets its title from the fact that it uses a duet of Wavelore Clavichords: One in "Electric" mode, and another in "Acoustic" mode.

Over the sweeping, filtered chords of the electric clavichord, the acoustic clavichord plays the syncopated chords in the A section of the tune, and then turns to a ringing, harp-like passage in the B section which makes use of the "Bebung" technique of applying vibrato to a note by varying finger pressure on the key. This section is backed by an electric clav playing block chords. Later, the two modes mix, playing a ping-ponging version of the syncopated chords that creates a quick call-and-response effect as the piece fades out
